Overview
Mapping your supply chain provides unique visibility into present and potential risks by identifying sub-tier suppliers and where they are located. Global legislation and customer requirements may oblige you to undertake comprehensive due diligence on your ‘upstream’ supply chain.
The ‘Upstream’ supply chain refers to the pre-production stage of inventory flow, relating to the organisations that provide you with components to create your product (i.e. your suppliers).
SUPPLIERASSURANCE offers due diligence assessments to support legislative reporting and compliance. By sending assessments to chosen suppliers during or after Supply Chain Builder completion, you can gather necessary information from your upstream supply chain.
Before getting started
To request information from your upstream supply chain, you will need:
1. A SUPPLIERASSURANCE account.
2. A SUPPLIERASSURANCE Supply Chain Risk Mapping (SCRiM) licence.
If you wish to become a SUPPLIERASSURANCE Customer and obtain the SCRiM licence, please book a call with our team (sales link).
Once you obtain a Supply Chain Risk Mapping (SCRiM) licence you will be able to send due diligence assessment requests to your sub-tier/ upstream suppliers.
How to
There are two ways you can send a due diligence assessment to your sub-tier/ upstream suppliers.
When starting the Supply Chain Builder
When you first start the Supply Chain Builder, you can mandate that all suppliers within your chosen product supply chain are asked to complete the assessment upon receiving/ completing the Supply Chain Builder invitation. This approach ensures that each supplier has access to the assessment without you having to request this from each supplier individually, reducing the amount of work needed to collect this data on a large scale.
1. Create your Supply Chain Builder.

2. Fill out the relevant product information within the Supply Chain Builder.3. Select the relevant questionnaire or assessment from the Questionnaire dropdown options.
As the Supply Chain is being built:
You are able to request further information from your sub-tier suppliers as the supply chain is being built to satisfy your wider due diligence requirements, allowing for a targeted approach. This approach allows you to view the supply chain and any associated risks first before requesting more information.
1. Select ‘View your Supply Chain’ from your dashboard.3. Locate the specific chain or individual supplier that you would like to request further information from and right click on the corresponding square within the chain.
4. Select the relevant due diligence assessment and select ‘Send invitations’. This will send an invitation to the specific chain or individual supplier to complete the assessment.
